Suscipe
St Ignatius Loyola

Take Lord!
Receive all my liberty,
my memory,
my understanding,
my entire will,
all that I have
and call my own.

To you, Lord, I return it.
Do with it as You will.
Give me only Your love
and Your grace.

That is enough for me.

Apostleship of Prayer

In 1844 Fr. Francis X. Gautrelet asked Jesuit seminarians to be apostles of prayer, to offer everything they did each day in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Since 1929 Popes have proposed particular prayer intentions each month.  Today millions of people have joined the Apostleship of Prayer and pray every day for the good of the whole world.

Join Pope Benedict XVI and offer yourself and your entire day as a prayer that God's will be done here on earth!

Daily Offering Prayer
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer You my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings of this day in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world. I offer them for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart: the salvation of souls, reparation for sin, and the reunion of all Christians. I offer them for the intentions of our bishops and of all Apostles of Prayer, and in particular for those recommended by our Holy Father this month.

AUGUST

•THE UNEMPLOYED AND THE HOMELESS.  That those who are unemployed, homeless, or in any serious need may find welcome, understanding, and help in overcoming their difficulties.

•VICTIMS OF DISCRIMINATION, HUNGER, AND FORCED EMIGRATION.  That the Church may be a home for all people in need, opening its doors to any who suffer from racial or religious discrimination, hunger, or wars forcing their emigration.
