Saint Valentine's Day Potluck Dinner
The Single Parents Support Group had a St. Valentine's Potluck Dinner on Saturday February 14th at 6pm. We wore our favorite red and the kids had a great time. Halloween Walk AND Fall Festival -October
If you want to take the kids to walk around for Halloween come to 4112 Converse Drive (around the corner from church) at 6pm. And on Sat Oct 25th the Mothers Group has extended an invitation to our group to go to their Fall festival. It is a Halloween Party for the kids. O'Malleys- October
We are going to meet at O'Malleys to hear one of our Members band play. "Fifth of Blues" with our very own Larry O' Connor. I will try to call but you guys who have changed numbers and emails etc need to let me know. I will be late to arrive. My son just told me this morning I have to stand up with him at a football game so I will be strolling in about 10pm. Thats ok the band starts at 10pm. So much for drinks at my house before maybe breakfast if you buy...just kidding. My son may be able to baby sit late if you need a sitter. He has sat for other friends of mine and good with kids. Throw him a couple bucks. O'Malley's Pub is located at 5228 Holly Ridge Rd, at the intersection of Holly Rdige and Glenwood Ave (just south of Fat Daddy's) in North Raleigh. Hope to see you all there. Let me know who is coming and if someone want to get a table and mark the table SINGLE PARENTS that would help. We have had events where people could not find us. I need your help keeping this group together. Beach Party- June
June 28th at Sandling Beach at Falls Lake at 11am. Located: 8.5 miles North of the Creedmoor Road Exit from 540, You turn left after you go 8.5miles up from that exit. Turn into Sandling beach. See the sign for the swimming area. You have to pay $5 per car to park. From the parking lot, we will be to the right of the parking lot, to the right of the bathroom and playround in the picnic area only feet from the water. Everyone bring a snack to share, your floaties, sun screen, chairs, towels, toys and a ready to have fun attitude. Artsplosure- May
Meet at the church Saturday the 17th at 10am to caravan and share rides. Carolina Mudcats - April 2008
The April event turned out to be another free of charge event. God is looking out for us. Someone gave us all tickets at the Gate to the Mudcats game...Single Parents and their families will be going to a Carolina Mudcats game Friday April 11th for the 7:15pm game. Group will caravan from the Church parking lot at 6:15pm. Potluck - March
Member hosted potluck. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share. North Carolina Zoo - February
We had a great time at the Zoo. Special Thanks to Bob Whittaker and his wife Mary Lynn for donating zoo tickets for the single parents and their families to go free of charge.
