Suscipe
St Ignatius Loyola

Take Lord!
Receive all my liberty,
my memory,
my understanding,
my entire will,
all that I have
and call my own.

To you, Lord, I return it.
Do with it as You will.
Give me only Your love
and Your grace.

That is enough for me.

1. Ministry of Greeters
2. Ministry of Reconciliation

Parish Plan Ministry of Greeter’s Mission Statement:

Welcoming our visitors with such warmth and sincerity in our hearts and souls...

Is our goal as a Greeters!

Our mission is to (1) serve, (2) encourage and (3) enrich the lives of each person entering the doors of St. Raphael the Archangel Church by welcoming and supporting them in a positive, friendly, warm, loving, nurturing and  spiritual manner.

We serve as a family....

every Sunday at the 9:30 Sunday Mass

Our Purpose:

1.   We serve as ambassadors of kindness by greeting and providing a genuine, warm and welcoming atmosphere, especially for all of our first time visitors and members alike.

2.   We are an extension of the Priest.  A priest cannot personally greet each member of the congregation, but we act in his place welcoming all those who come to share in our Mass.

3. We are a minister of hospitality.  It goes above and beyond greeting and welcoming newcomers and parishioners.

4. We represent St. Raphael the Archangel Church, as we are the first person that you see when you come in through the doors of the church.

We greet as a family, me and Mommy.
We always look forward to greeting you at our 11:30 Sunday Mass Service.

Our Goals:

They are as follows:

  1. It is our goal to put each person immediately at ease and make them feel comfortable so that they can receive all that God has for them in the service.

  2. To make parishioners aware of the ecclesial nature of Catholic Liturgy, that Liturgy worship is not an individual matter apart from others, but a call to join together in praising and giving thanks to God.

  3. To promote diversity in our parish.

  4. To direct people to locations and times of the ministries available at St Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church:

a.    Children’s Liturgy of the Word

b.    Children’s Faith formation classes

c.     RCIA

d.    Knights of Columbus Special Events (breakfast)

e.    Mass Times and Schedules

f.      Reconciliation Times and others

  1. To distribute materials. Our Goal as a greeter has more to do with relationships than mechanical aspects of handing out special church announcements, or programs as requested by the Pastor.  Sometimes this often includes a list of special activities during Lent, a map of the school and the different facilities of our parish such as meeting rooms, some history and a list of week-day activities like Bible study groups, Stewardship Meetings, Social Justice, Special workshops and other related ministerial seminars.

Our whole family greets you at the Sunday 530 Mass.
Good Morning.....

Welcome to St. Raphael.....

How do you do?

Objectives:

1.                To be able to continue expanding the number of greeters at every Mass. In particular 11:30 A.M. and 5:30 Sunday evening mass.

2.                To be able to provide training sessions and audio visual materials at least three times a year that will allow greeters to become more visible, vibrant, and active in the parish.

3.                To upgrade and further develop their role to more than just greeting but by being knowledgeable to act as Ministers of Hospitality and or Information/Communication Specialists especially during weekend masses where needs becomes more visible and much needed.

4.                To be able to recruit more parishioners of different ethnic backgrounds such as Africans, Bengalis, Asian Pacific Islanders, Italians, and many others.  We have a total of 76 different nationalities.

5.                To be able to implement and develop a system and training manual to unite with other ministries that also serve in this capacity whose native spoken language is other than English.  After all, we are one church.

6.                To be an active part on some special services where a blend of different culture and services are involved such as Ecumenical Services and other events held at the parish.

I'm from the Philippines and this is my husband. Together we serve in the ministry of greeters at the 11:30 Sunday Mass and on various ministries of the diocese.
