St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church:
          The Original Site 1966-1987

Faith formation classes (CCD) were held in trailers in the 70's!
The large parking lot for the original St. Raphael church is now under the parish offices.
"I remember in those days that dad [Al Ruocchio] and a few other guys would take off on Christmas Eve and hit all the tree lots looking for the cast-offs. The church could not afford to buy them in those days."
Paul Ruocchio
Notice the wall statues of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  They are now in our Atrium!

St Raphael Original Pulpit 1971 P RuocchioThis photo shows the original Pulpit in the old church - which was part of the communion rail, as well as the Choir area that had just recently been converted into a Cry Room. When Gene Pipas arrived as music director, the area was returned to use by the choir, and the glass wall was removed. This picture was taken in June of '71. The priest at the pulpit is our first pastor, Fr. Richardson.
Raphael Hall ready for Christmas Mass in 1979.
