God’s plan for your life is so much better than you could ever imagine. Let us help you experiencDSC_0240e life to the fullest in the midst of relationships and genuine community. We’d love to help you get connected at Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish so you can discover who God has designed you to be.

The goal of Saint Raphael Youth Ministry (SRYM) is two-fold; (1) to boldly proclaim to our youth and their families: THE LORD JESUS CHRIST RISEN FROM THE DEAD and (2) to form Intentional Disciples of Him who we proclaim to be Risen.

We reach this mission through the Eucharist, the source and summit of the Christian Life, and through our Mama Mary.

Our Youth Ministry Sunday Gatherings, called “Life Teen” for our High School Youth, and “Edge”  for our Middle School Youth, serve as a “front door” to Saint Raphael Youth Ministry (SRYM).

Life Teen–

Life Teen is a High School Youth Ministry movement within the Church which seeks to “lead teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.”

Life Teen gatherings, called “Life Nights,”  happens on Sundays, immediately following the 5:30PM  Eucharist. Our gatherings are divided into ‘Gather, Proclaim, Break and Send,’ with a heavy emphasis on relationship building.

For our High School youth, we gather to celebrate life with laughter, friendships, music, prayer experiences, food, and encouraging faith talks. Church doesn’t have to be boring and God does matter.

Edge–
Edge is one of the outreach of SRYM to our Middle School students and families. Our gatherings occur on Sunday mornings immediately following the 9:30AM Eucharist. They are filled with energetic activities, relevant catechesis and faith-sharing, and thought provoking challenges.

We also journey with our Youth, and their families, through our Confirmation Ministry, as they

Once a month, we follow the command of our Lord to do service to our least brothers and sisters in
our Raleigh Community . Also, once a month, we fortify our sense of community through different fun activities throughout the Triangle.

The weekly 5:30PM Sunday Eucharist is the backbone of our faith and our ministry, and one of our goals is to see every member of our parish connect with our God in the Eucharist.

There’s lots more happening, so if there’s anything we can do to help you get connected, let us know, we’d love to help!

Our Blueprint for SRYM: Renewing the Vision

Website 5The vision of the Church for youth is grounded in a contemporary understanding of the life and work of Jesus Christ, and expressed through eight components of advocacy, catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice and service, leadership development, pastoral care, and prayer and worship.

Our young people are integral to all ministries at Saint Raphael, authentically involved in our mission. Read more here.

What is SRYM?  Website 1

Saint Raphael Youth Ministry is the response of our Christian community to the specific needs of young people, and the sharing of the unique gifts of the youth with the larger community. Youth Ministry at Saint Raphael is relational, multidimensional, holistic, and people-centered. Adolescence is a significant time in the development of the human person. Our parish community has an important role in building assets in youth and assisting youth to successfully the complete the developmental task particular to adolescence. The presence of young people at our parish is a sign of hope and a great gift to us.

Youth Ministry strives to promote quality programs, healthy relationships and functions for youth in grades 6-12. This inclusive ministry provides faith formation, social activities, retreats and service projects as well as leadership training and mentoring. We offer many opportunities for our youth to grow within the Catholic community and with Jesus. Youth Ministry also supports and helps strengthens families through its comprehensive programs, services, and resources.

The Youth Ministry process happens when a variety of people, through a team approach, share with one another their stories and their lives. By doing so, they share the story of our Creator.
