Altar Servers assist with various parts of the Mass such as lighting and carrying candles, bearing the processional cross, bringing the gifts of bread and wine to the altar, holding the ritual books, and ringing the bells. This ministry is open to any in grade four and above who have received their First Holy Communion. This is a great way for the youth of the church to serve our parish. Altar Servers assist with the Mass processions and assist the priest during the Mass. After a training session, altar servers serve on a rotating basis and possibly at special Masses for Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, Holy Days, children’s First Communion and Youth Confirmation with the Bishop presiding.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) are members of the Church specially trained and authorized to help the priest to distribute the Eucharist at Mass or in visits to the sick or homebound. EMHCs serve our parish and visitors by assisting in the distribution of the Body and Blood of our Lord at our Eucharistic liturgies on the weekends, Holy Days, and other special days. We minister at a very special and holy time to each communicant. Each minister is approved by the pastor.

Healthcare ministers bring Jesus in the most Holy Eucharist to homebound parishioners and parishioners in nursing homes. We are in need of parishioners who will prayerfully consider helping to serve our homebound. Over the past year many in our parish have been shut in and unable to receive Jesus. As we’ve restarted this ministry, it has been very fulfilling to see the gratitude of those receiving.
Please contact Monica Lavia if you are interested in serving in this important ministry or if you are homebound and would like to receive the Eucharist at home.
The Livestream Team operates the computer software and cameras to livestream the Mass and other liturgical events through the parish website and YouTube. No technology experience is needed to join this team.

Readers proclaim the first and second Scripture readings during the Liturgy of the Word, carry the Book of the Gospels in the procession and read aloud the Universal Prayer intentions in the absence of a Deacon, and read the announcements at the beginning and end of Mass. Readers proclaim the scriptures at the liturgies, Holy Days, and other special days. Middle-school aged children through adults are welcome to join this ministry.

Sacristan Ministers are “Guardians of the Eucharist". Sacristans set up everything needed for the celebration of Mass, and coordinate with the priest, deacon, and liturgical ministry volunteers to make sure that every role is taken care of. Sacristans have three main roles: Security officer (of the sacristy and most importantly, the Eucharist), Mass set up and clean up, and Mass Coordinator. You’ll serve all three roles each time you are a Sacristan, though some of the roles may play a bigger part than others, depending on the Mass.

Ushers provide organizational support to our parish at weekend Masses, special Masses for Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and some Holy Days, and at other liturgical events when asked. Ushers greet worshippers upon arrival in the church, help everyone find a seat, manage the collection of the offertory, direct the flow of parishioners during Communion, respond and serve as the first point of contact if someone needs assistance during the liturgy, and straighten up the sanctuary after a Mass or other ceremony.
