Proclaimers of the word

Readers proclaim the first and second Scripture readings during the Liturgy of the Word, and read the announcements at the beginning and end of Mass. In the absence of a Deacon, they carry the Book of the Gospels in the procession and read aloud the Universal Prayer intentions.

Middle-school aged children through adults are welcome to join this ministry.
